Yleisen harhaluulon mukaan tutkimukset todistavat että ainoastaan hormonit estävät endometrioosin leviämistä. Maailman johtavat endoasiantuntijat tosin ovat sitä mieltä että lääkehoito on endossa aina vain pelkkä laastari eli kivunhoitoa.
Rotta/solutason tutkimuksissa on löydetty endon kasvua hillitseviä ja jopa endopesäkkeitä pienentäviä luontaisempia vaihtoehtoja.
